The Earth receives 174 PetaWatts of incoming solar radiation at any given time. The collector developed by Earth Power collects 98% of the energy from solar spectrum for conversion to electricity. Only 51% of solar radiation is absorbed by land and oceans, with the remainder being radiated back into space. Therefore, the total amount of solar energy reflected is vast. With a proper use of solar capture technology, we can harvest this untapped energy supply to fulfil the world´s energy demand. Alternative sustainable and economical sources of energy must be found. Solution Overview“Sol Invictus” has significant benefits to the energy sector, allows solar energy to compete on price and efficiency with traditional energy sources, enabling companies and countries to rapidly implement a solar based energy infrastructure that will solve many of the affects on climate change. The system efficiently and cheaply converts heat to electrical energy and with the integration of proprietary thermal energy storage allows for 24/7 renewable electrical energy generation. Thermal StorageEP has developed a thermal storage capacity that allows for solar power to operate economically 24 hours per day. The storage system has been designed to store sufficient thermal energy to ensure that energy is always available to provide electricity upon demand. Electrical GenerationWhen it comes to electrical generation, the project requirements dictate which electrical generation is required. EPhas multiple integrated generation solutions that will be used dependent upon the size of the project. The system has been designed to be modular and can be used for small scale 5kw/h projects for individual homes, as well as being used for Multi Megawatt projects on an industrial electrical generation scale.
